The issue about the West PH Sea became the talk of the town during the Aquino Administration. This is because of China claims that South China Sea [West Philippine Sea] is part of their territory.
But despite the dispute, China was still able to send the first 10,000-ton-class hospital, the Peace Ark. This floating hospital admitted the survivors of the victims of Super Typhoon ‘Yolanda’ last 2013.
“This is an added boost because the Peace Ark is even bigger than our regional hospital in terms of capacity with very experienced doctors and medical staff from China,” Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez of Leyte said.
Rear Adm. Shen Hao said that Filipino doctors and nurses could come on the floating hospital and see how it operates.
Shen also said that there is free accommodation for the patients.
Despite all the issues surrounding PH and China, there was still genuine concern that was seen in China’s gesture.
