Residents of Davao City are now rejoicing over yet another victory of the Duterte administration, as the suspect of the deadly Roxas Night Market bombing is now in police custody.
The tragic bombing took the lives of 15 people and injured 70 people in the busy Roxas Night Market last September 2.
President Duterte, who was in Davao City at that time, immediately declared a state of national emergency after such an act of lawless violence.
The initial investigation of the Davao police showed that the suspects made and used an improvised explosive device composed of 60mm and 81mm mortar.
Investigators stated that the IED was constructed in the same way as the one used in the explosion at the Ecoland Terminal, also in Davao.
Nine people have already been charged with multiple murder and frustrated multiple murder in connection with the bombing but only one of them has been identified.
The military said in an advisory that Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana would be the one to present the arrested suspect later this afternoon.
The people and the media as well are all on standby for the press conference which will be held at any time from now.
