Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reveiled his plan to donate two large frigates to Philippines during his talk with President Duterte to strengthen the bilateral relationship of the two countries.

According to Presidential Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar in a press conference held at Vientiane, Laos, the two frigates is now being delivered.

The two 90-meter (295 feet) vessels will be delivered to the Philippine Coast Guard to help boost the country’s maritime security
capabilities, as mentioned in the Chicago Tribune.

"Under our close partnership, I do look forward to further developing our cooperation in a wide range of areas together with you,” Abe said.
